Former Zamfara State Governor and Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle, has formally invited Governor Dauda Lawal to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Matawalle made the call while receiving thousands of supporters at his residence in Maradun, urging Lawal to join the party for the progress of the state.
“Dauda Lawal should come and join the APC rather than the hide-and-seek type of game the Governor is currently playing,” Matawalle said, assuring Lawal that he is welcome into the party’s fold.
The minister emphasized that the APC is the trailblazer of security, progress, development, peace, and tranquility.
Matawalle highlighted President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as “a good manager of peace and tranquility” who welcomes all willing to join the path of progress. “President Tinubu’s focus is on the development of the country and welcomes all wishing to join the trailblazer of peace, harmony, growth, and development,” he added.
The minister also assured his supporters of his commitment to their welfare and urged them to continue supporting Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He lamented the current state of insecurity and economic hardship in Zamfara, attributing it to poor governance.
“The president had recently ordered the security operatives to bring to an end the spate of insecurity in northern Nigeria before the end of the year,” Matawalle said, highlighting the administration’s efforts to address security challenges.
Matawalle urged Lawal to justify the state’s huge monthly federal allocations by providing developmental projects and basic infrastructure across Zamfara.
