A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Akwa Ibom State, Chief Don Etiebet, has warmly welcomed Governor Umo Eno and members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who recently defected to the APC.
Chief Etiebet believes the governor’s decision to join the APC is a key step towards the state’s development.
Etiebet praised Governor Eno’s leadership, saying, “Their decision to join the APC at this pivotal time in our nation’s political history is a courageous and strategic step that reflects their commitment to the progress and unity of Akwa Ibom State.”
He noted that the governor’s move would bring the state closer to the Federal Government through Senate President Godswill Akpabio, a key APC leader.
Etiebet commended Governor Eno’s bold steps in infrastructure development, particularly the reconstruction of the long-abandoned road in Oruk Anam
. “I particularly commend his bold steps in infrastructure development, which have had direct and positive impacts on the lives of ordinary Akwa Ibomites,” he said.
Etiebet praised Governor Eno’s consultative approach to governance, saying, “Since assuming office, Gov. Eno has shown himself to be a listening leader, one who is genuinely attuned to the yearnings and aspirations of the people.”
He welcomed the governor’s inclusive leadership style, which prioritizes projects that directly affect the grassroots.
Etiebet urged APC members to open their hearts and arms to the new entrants, build bridges, and focus on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
“Let us build bridges, not walls, and work together to build a stronger, more united, and friendly Akwa Ibom,” he said.
