Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has sustained investments in peace building through initiatives like the Kaduna State Peace Commission, which works to mediate conflicts and build durable structures for reconciliation across communities.
The Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Balarabe who reiterated that ‘’these interventions, together with grassroots engagement, have strengthened trust and made it possible to build a more secure and hopeful future.’’
Dr Balarabe made these remarks when a delegation of the Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action (JISRA), led by the Country Coordinator, Mr. Jude Likita, paid her a courtesy call at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.
Commending JISRA for its efforts promoting peace, interfaith dialogue and freedom of religion across Nigeria and globally, the Deputy Governor pointed out that its activities ‘’align perfectly with our own vision of a peaceful, just and prosperous Kaduna where every citizen feels protected, valued, and included.’’
‘’Your programmes have advanced justice, inclusion, and respect for human dignity, helping to nurture societies where differences are not a cause of division, but strength for building unity,’’ she added.
The Deputy Governor also described JISRA as a true partner in this journey of peace building, adding that ‘’your efforts to bridge divides, empower women and youth, and foster interfaith cooperation.’’
According to her, JISRA’s activities ‘’complement our own programmes, and we are determined to continue supporting and working with you.’’
Dr Balarabe promised that ‘’together, we can consolidate the gains already made and ensure that peace, justice, and inclusion becomes permanent features of our state.’’
‘’Under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, our administration remains firmly committed to promoting justice, protecting the rights of every citizen, and fostering inclusion as the foundation for peace and stability.
‘’These values are already yielding results, as seen in the relative calm, progress, and renewed confidence our state is now experiencing,’’ she added.
Dr Balarabe promised that the Governor Uba Sani administration will continue ‘’to recognize and respect the importance of citizens’ voices, the contributions of faith leaders, and the diversity of thoughts and groups in our state.’’
‘’This is why we have established mechanisms for citizen engagement, including the Kaduna Elders Forum, which brings together respected religious leaders, traditional authorities, and statesmen to advice and regularly interface with government.
‘’In addition, our Bureau of Interfaith Affairs works consistently with religious bodies to deepen trust, dialogue, and harmony among faith communities,’’ she added.
