Nasarawa State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Working Committee has unanimously confirmed, Alhaji Aliyu Bello, as the substantive party chairman in the state.
Our correspondent gathered that the state Working Committee of APC, took the decision during its emergency meeting on Wednesday, held at Government House, Lafia.
Alhaji Bello, a renowned politician in Nasarawa State, succeeded his predecessor, Dr. John Mamman, who resigned from the position following his appointment by Governor Abdullahi Sule, as the Commissioner for Education.
Aliyu Bello was sworn-in and administered oath of office in a brief ceremony after his nomination was ratified by leaders of the party.
Aliyu Bello (Sarduanan Adogi), until his emergence as the new chairman, was the party’s secretary in the state.
Similarly, a former Permanent Secretary with the state government, Yairus Dagusa, has emerged and was sworn-in as the new Secretary of the party in the State.
Aliyu Bello, hails from Lafia local government in Nasarawa South, while the new secretary, while Yairus Dagusa, is from Karu Local Government Area in Nasarawa West Senatorial Zone.
