The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osogbo Local Government in Osun, Mr Saheed Onibonokuta, has said the party is determined to return to government in 2026.

Onibonokuta in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Osogbo, said no effort would be spared to ensure the party returns to power and continue its people-centred leadership.

According to him, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state has failed the people, hence the clamour for the return of APC in the 2026 governorship election.

Onibonokuta, a former chairman of Osogbo Local Government, also said that APC under the leadership of Mr Gboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, was waxing stronger and preparing to return to power.

“Osun people can now see the difference between APC and PDP in the state.

“Osun people deserve better than what they are getting now and that is why they are clamouring for the return of APC in the state.

“It is obvious that PDP and Gov. Ademola Adeleke-led government are not after the welfare of workers and pensioners in the state.

“Even the money being received from federation account are not being utilised for the benefit of the people unlike when APC was in government and that is why we are preparing to rescue our people come 2026,” he said.

Onibonokuta also said that members of the party in the state were united, purposeful and determine to work for the victory of the party.

“More than ever, we are now united under the leadership of Oyetola, who has instructed us to continue to work for the stability and victory of the party in the state.

“I can say categorically, that with the yearning of the people of the state for the return of APC to power, PDP will not spend another four years in the state.

“We will restore the lost hope of our people and ensure that they get what they truly deserve,” he said.

Onibonokuta, however, urged members of the party to continue to support Mr Tajudeen Lawal, the state chairman of the party, to succeed.

He said the support of all members for the chairman was important for the progress of the party in the state. (NAN).
