
Wasiu Akinwande, a 44-year-old notorious hired killer and cultist kingpin

Lagos State Police Command has announced the arrest of Wasiu Akinwande, a 44-year-old notorious hired killer and cultist kingpin, who has been terrorizing the Mushin area of Lagos State and its environs.
Akinwande, also known as Olori Eso, was arrested in his hideout in Agbado, Ogun State, after a well-coordinated special operation by the police.
“This serial killer suspect is the most wanted suspect in Lagos history in recent times,” the police statement read.

Akinwande has been responsible for organizing and executing series of armed robberies, murders, kidnappings, and cult-related killings in Lagos State.
The police recovered a cache of weapons and incriminating items from Akinwande’s hideout, including AK-47 rifles, K2 Assault rifles, pump action rifles, locally made pistols, and live ammunition.
“The operatives of the Command raided his house in Mushin, and recovered…he freely admitted he was using for his killing operations with his gang,” the statement added.
Four families have already come forward to identify Akinwande as the suspect behind the killings of their children and wards.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has assured Lagosians that their safety and security remain the top priority of the Command.
“We will ensure that all those linked to Wasiu Akinwande are brought to justice,”* he said.
