Borno State Police Command has achieved a significant milestone in its efforts to restore law and order in the state.
According to the Commissioner of Police, CP Abdulhamid Nasiru, the Command has arrested 210 suspects and convicted 86 others between June 11 and June 18, 2025.
The CP highlighted the Command’s commitment to working closely with community members to address heinous crimes such as handset snatching, thuggery, and youth gangsterism.
“Under my watch, the Borno State Police Command will not allow any room for criminal elements,” Nasiru said.

The Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) – Social Vices Unit, a joint task force of the Police and other security agencies, was instrumental in achieving these breakthroughs.
The unit recovered various exhibits, including tramadol, exzol tablets, dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, knives, shisha pots, and hard drugs.
“These significant achievements were made possible through the dedication and hard work of the Command’s RRS-Social Vices Unit”, Nasiru said, commending the officers involved in the operations.

The CP expressed gratitude to the Borno State Government, led by Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, for revitalizing and equipping the RRS-Social Vices Unit.
He also appreciated the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice for facilitating the swift prosecution and conviction of suspects.
Nasiru urged the people of Borno State to continue partnering with security agencies by providing timely and actionable information.
“Let me be clear: we will not tolerate any form of criminal activity in the state,”* he warned.
