Senator Gabriel Suswam
Former Benue State Governor, Senator Gabriel Suswam has called on politicians to practice politics with fear of God to be more useful to God and the society.
Speaking during the thanksgiving reception organised by Esther Hon, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart to mark her 75th birthday, Suswam noted that those that practice politics in the fear of God attract blessings from God.
Senator Suswam, who appreciated the septuagenarian for her faith in God, urged other politicians to emulate Mrs. Hon whose practice of politics is with a difference.
The former Governor revealed that Mrs Hon has been a faithful politician, who has continued to support him in his first tenure as the governor, saying that the he has really been enjoying her firm support all these years.
Suswam who felicitated the party’s grassroots mobilizer, noted with emphasis that Mummy Hon has contributed immensely not only for the growth of the party but the school she has established among other things the society is benefiting from.
Earlier in his message at NKST Achagh, Makurrdi, Rev. Dr. Philip Gire called on Christians to leave their old ways of life and embrace the fear of God as he insisted that it was the only sure way of attracting blessings from God and likened it to the biblical prodigal son who eventually came back to his father and his father received him.
The celebrant, Mummy Esther Hon in her remarks, appreciated those that attended the thanksgiving service. She pointed out that at 75, she was strong even as she does a lot of things herself and attributed it to God’s protection and blessings.
