South Africa, Brazil others to feature in Calabar Carnival

The Cross River State Government on Monday said arrangements has been completed for this year’s Calabar Carnival.

The state Commissioner for Information, Erasmus Ekpang, disclosed this on Monday while addressing newsmen at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Center, Calabar.

“We are fully ready for the 32 day fiesta the state government had approved the rebranding and robost rebranding programmes band implementation of key project”

He said the Governor Bassey Otu had approved the re-establishement of the College of Agriculture, and the Training Academy with new concert in the Carnival Commission.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser Event Management, Effiong Ekpeyong, said the Commission has introduced new concept at Millennium Park with interior decorations in the Central Senatorial district and Northern Senatorial district.

“The Carnival Commission is ready to set new record in this year’s Calabar Carnival. We are living no stone unturned to ensure a smooth Carnival

Executive Secretary of the Cross River State Carnival Commission, Austin Cobham, said this year’s Children Calabar Carnival will be censored .

The state security Adviser, South Senatorial district Said the state is fully ready for the Carnival, assuring that security have been put in place.
