Zulum reconstitutes Borno Agricultural Transformation Committee

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has approved the reconstitution of the Borno State Agricultural Transformation Committee with immediate effect.

Governor Zulum’s approval was contained in a statement issued and signed on Tuesday by the Commissioner of Information and Internal Security, Prof. Mohammed Usman Tar.

The governor said the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Bukar Tijani is to serve as the Chairman of the committee, while Engr Mohammed Shettima,, the Director Irrigation, State MANR (rtd) is to serve as the Secretary of the committee.

Other members of the committee include: Engr Bawu Musam,ithe Hon Commissioner, Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources (MANR), Bulama Gana, the Permanent Secretary MANR, Hon Ali Baba Haruna, the Special Adviser, Agriculture to the governor and Engr Mohammed Kolo Kaumi, the Director Irrigation, MANR, Engr Baba Gana Alibe, the Director, Rural Development, MANR and Madu Kawu S. Dalatu, the Director Agriculture, MANR.

Others include: Engr Abatcha Jarawa , GM , BOPLAS , Maina Mustapha Arjinoma, SPC NG-CARES, Borno State , Dr. Bukar Ali Usman, the Director-General, Borno State Livestock Management Agency (BSLMA), Hon Musa Inuwa Kubo, Former Hon. Commissioner of Education, Engr Abba Garba, Former MD , CBDA, Alh Gana Bama, Irrigation Agronomist, (rtd), Engr Bukar Kanumbumi, Irrigation Engineer, (rtd) and Engr Ngita H Mshelia, Irrigation Engineer (rtd).

Other members are: Engr Madu Usman Chibok, Irrigation Engineer (rtd), Mal Isa Audu Teli, Agric Extension Agronomist (rtd), Engr Baba Gana Soye, the Director , Rural Development (rtd), Hon Alh. Mamman Nur, SSA to the Governor, Hon Ali Audu Damasak, Former S.A Agric to the Governor, Hon Idris Yahaya, Former SSA to the Governor , Hon Bala Pali Mari, Former SSA to the Governor, Engr Bukar Wakil, Director Irrigation, MANR (rtd), and Engr Mohammed Gajibo, Solar Power Irrigation Consultant .

The statement added that the appointees are to proceed to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) for collection of their appointment letters and process documentation while those who are part of government as functionaries will continue their various duties while those who are not functionaries will be enumerated.

It further stated that the committee is to function on daily basis while the appointees were urged to justify the governor’s confidence on them and support governor’s short, medium and longer-term vision for the agricultural sector of the state and the agriculture value chain in Borno State
