2023: PDP zoning committee submits report to Ayu

Members of the zoning committee set up by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to zone the 2023 presidency and other elective offices in the country have submitted their report to the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) at the party”s National Secretariat in Abuja.

Presenting the report on Tuesday, the Chairman of the committee, Dr Samuel Ortom, who is the Governor of Benue State told members of the National Working Committee that they have finished the assignment given to them within the time frame as directed by NWC.

Governor Ortom, who was represented by a member of the zoning committee, Mr. Ndidi Elumelu, stated that they did the job given to them in fairness but refused to disclose the content of the report.

He however noted that the members of national working committee are obligated to make the report public.

Other members of the committee present at the presentation of the report included the former Governor of Adamawa State, Boni Baruna, Senator Abdul Ningi, Aliyu Gusau among others .

They both expressed happiness for the opportunity given to them to serve and promised to avail themselves for another assignment when the need arises.

Responding, the National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Iorchia Ayu commended the committee for a job well done which he described as free and fair.

He promised to pass the report to members of the National Executive Committee who are in the better position to make public the committee report.

Dr. Ayu, who was visibly happy for the good job done within the shortest possible time of the assignment boasted that PDP is a peaceful party that has no crisis like the ruling All Progressive Congress.

He also expressed the readiness of the party to reclaim power back from the APC. He also promised to return PDP to its glorious days as they are poised to take over the presidency and leadership of the two chambers of National Assembly by next year.

He urged members of the public to keep faith with the party by voting for all the political aspirants that are contesting elections under the platform of the PDP.
