The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC) Professor Abubakar Rasheed has voluntarily resigned from the NUC to continue lecturing at the Bayero University Kano where he was appointed from

Professor Rasheed who stated this to newsmen on Monday in Abuja said he had spent seven years as the ES of NUC.

This was after the Commission (NUC) has issued a letter of recognition to Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, for the establishment of new Kogi State University, Kabba

Executive Secretary of NUC, Professor Abubakar Rasheed, presented the letter to the Govrasheedernor on Monday in Abuja, bringing the number Universities in the state to three (3).

Bello, who led top functionaries from the State to the Commission, said the idea behind the creation of the university was to raise more graduates in the state.
