
Ogun State Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of veteran broadcaster and retired Ogun State Television (OGTV) personality, Ms. Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard.
The tragic incident came to light on Sunday, June 21, 2026, after a resident of Iyana Agodo Village reported suspicious activities at the deceased’s residence to the Owode Egba Police Division.
Following the report, detectives were immediately dispatched to the scene to ascertain the situation.
Police sources disclosed that preliminary findings revealed signs of forced entry and indications that the premises had been disturbed.
During a detailed search of the property, officers discovered the body of the security guard inside the security post. The corpse of Ms. Oyesiku was later found within the main apartment.
Investigators also observed that the deceased’s vehicle was missing from the premises, raising further concerns about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In response to the development, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, ordered a comprehensive investigation aimed at uncovering what transpired and identifying those responsible.
According to the police, an intensive investigation is already underway to establish the facts, track down the perpetrators and ensure that everyone connected to the incident is brought to justice.
Security operatives have also expanded surveillance and intelligence-gathering efforts across relevant locations as part of measures to aid the investigation and prevent related criminal activities.
The Command expressed condolences to the family of the late broadcaster, the management and staff of Ogun State Television, members of the media community and others affected by the loss.
While assuring residents that every effort is being made to unravel the mystery behind the deaths, the police appealed to members of the public to remain calm and cooperate with investigators by providing useful information that may assist the ongoing probe.
The Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice for the victims and maintaining the safety and security of residents across the state.
