The Army War College of Nigeria (AWCN) has said it would partner the North East Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation Hadin Kai Headquarters, Theater Command , Maimakin Cantonment Maiduguri on war operational plans and strategies to enhance the capacity of the Military Command and Control Center (MCCC) North East Nigeria.
The college would also synergize with other operational military formations under the theater command which include sector 1 command Maiduguri, sector 2 command Damaturu and sector 3 command Monguno in enhancing leadership capacity and operational strategies of the military formations which is part of the Module 7 of the AWCN strategic course being embarked upon by 30 participants of Course 5, 2021 .
The Commandant, Army War College of Nigeria, Major General Solomon Udounwa, stated this on Thursday during an operational visits to The Theater Command Headquarters, Maimakin Cantonment, Maiduguri.
Maj. Gen. Udounwa said the college would continue to contribute its qouta to the theater command on operational plans and strategies towards improving operations and leadership quality at the theater command, stressing that “the college has concentrated on theoretical operational planning and strategies but now decided to include operational planning and strategies that informed the operation visits to the theater by the joint participants”.
He commended the theater commander for his efforts and successes made at the theater, while describing him as a good striker and sportsman who is also committed to his responsibility and hardworking in nature being one of the best officer among his course mates.
Earlier, The Director, War Strategies and Studies of the Army War College, Brigadier General U. M. Alkali, said the participants numbering about 30 were in 3 categories, namely from Republic of Togo, one from Democratic Republic of Congo and two from FRSC and DIA as Faculty members while others are from NAF, NNN and the ,NA.
Responding, the Theater Commander, Operation Hadin Kai JTF, , Major General, who expressed delight for the visit, noted that “the participants would practically see for themselves what they have been taught theoretically in the college in order for them to have opportunity to see and know what actually is practically at the warfront”.
The theater Commander advised them to avail themselves with the privileges available at their disposal by engaging practically in various army operations.
He maintained also that their different grounds and different experiences will help them contribute to their roles, capabilities and quality leadership when they become leaders in future while commending AWCN for its initiatives and contributions to operational plans and Strategies.
“With the successes recorded and efforts being put in place couple with the new operational plans and strategies, it is hopeful that the Insurgency will soon come to an end”, he assured.
