Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has felicitated with former Osun State governor and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, on the occasion of his 69th birthday.
In a goodwill message shared on Monday, Atiku described Aregbesola as a committed patriot whose years of public service and dedication to progressive ideals have continued to inspire many Nigerians.
The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate praised Aregbesola for his contributions to democratic governance and nation-building, noting that his role in the ADC remains significant at a critical period in Nigeria’s political development.
“Today, I celebrate my friend and compatriot, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, @raufaregbesola, as he marks his 69th birthday,” Atiku stated.
“Your years of service to our nation, your steadfast commitment to progressive ideals, and your dedication to strengthening democratic values continue to inspire many across Nigeria.”
Atiku further acknowledged the former Minister of Interior’s leadership qualities and political experience, describing them as valuable assets to the ADC and the country at large.
“As National Secretary of the ADC, your experience, courage, and sense of duty remain invaluable at this critical moment in our nation’s history,” he added.
The Waziri Adamawa also prayed for good health, wisdom and strength for the elder statesman as he celebrates another milestone.
“I wish you continued good health, wisdom, and strength in the years ahead. Happy Birthday, Ogbeni,” Atiku said.
Aregbesola, a prominent figure in Nigeria’s progressive political movement, served as governor of Osun State from 2010 to 2018 and later as Minister of Interior under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
