Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose
A Federal High Court in Lagos has discharged and acquitted former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, of money laundering charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke ruled that the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case against Fayose, warranting his acquittal.
No Prima Facie Case Established
The court upheld Fayose’s no-case submission, meaning the prosecution didn’t provide sufficient evidence to require Fayose to defend himself.
This decision brings an end to the trial, and Fayose is now acquitted of all charges.
