IGP Kayode Egbetokun
Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has met with retired police officers who are protesting against the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The meeting aims to address the welfare concerns of retired officers.
The retired officers had protested at the National Assembly and the Force Headquarters, demanding their removal from the CPS.
They expressed their grievances, holding placards and chanting anti-government songs.
Egbetokun assured the protesters that the welfare of retired police officers is being addressed.
However, he noted that exiting the CPS is a complex issue that cannot be resolved immediately.
He urged the protest leaders to avoid spreading misinformation and assured them that the Force would not abandon its retired officers.
