Insecurity: AIG Gonna charges police officers to be security concious

PATRICK ABANG, Calabar –

The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) zone 6, Usman Sule Gonna has charged officers and men of Zone 6 Headquarters Calabar to be security conscious, disciplined and professional in their approach to policing.

He gave this charge in his maiden lecture at the Zonal Headquarters Calabar the State capital.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Nelson Okpabi, noted that the drift in officers approach to work is contributing to the present hike in security challenges in the country especially the incessant killing of policemen.

He admonished the men to take their job seriously and treat members of the public politely.

The AIG also advised the officers to imbibe the culture of “esprit de corp” and be their brothers keepers in order to surmount the hatred and enmity from criminals and members of the public.

He urged the Department of Zonal Operations and the Intelligence Bureau to rejig on their strategies to ensure watertide security in the zone
