Israeli military building destroyed by Iran missiles
Iran has clarified that its recent strikes on southern Israel targeted military intelligence facilities, not a hospital, as initially reported by some media outlets.
According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, the strikes aimed at the Israeli army’s C4I telecommunications corps headquarters and an intelligence facility.
The agency said a hospital in the area was affected by the blast’s shockwave, but it was not the intended target.
“The strikes were aimed at the Israeli army’s C4I telecommunications corps headquarters and an intelligence facility,” IRNA reported.
The incident occurred in the southern city of Beersheba, where Soroka Medical Center was reportedly hit by an Iranian missile.
Israeli media released footage showing blown-out windows and heavy black smoke, with officials reporting “extensive damage.”
In response, Israel launched a counterattack on Iran’s Arak heavy water facility, according to Iranian state television.
The facility was reportedly evacuated before the attack, and there is no threat of leakage. Israel had previously warned of a potential strike on the facility.
The exchange highlights the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, with both countries engaging in military actions against each other’s strategic targets.
