
The two rescued Chibok girls

Nigeria military troops have rescued two abducted Chibok school girls from the captivity of Boko Haram insurgents in Bama and Gwoza axis of Borno State.
The Theater Commander, JTF Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Chris G. Musa disclosed this on Tuesday while parading the rescued Chibok girls before journalists at the command’s headquarters in Maiduguri.
He said the first girl, Hauwa Joseph aged 18 years was rescued on 01/06/2022 by the troops of 26 TF of 7 Division , NA Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri during their routine operation desert sanity around Baana axis.
The victim, according to the Commandant, “has been with the insurgents for almost 7 years and lastly they forcefully married her one Abba and had a son with him named Usman who happened to be number 18 student in the serial list of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls”.

“While the second school girl by name, Mary Dauda, aged 17 years was under captivity for 9 years and was also married to a member of the sect and have a child before she managed to escape their hide out to neighbouring camps of the insurgents, claiming she was visiting her colleagues before she was assisted and guided to escape safely along Ngoshe axis.
“She was intercepted by the troops on Operation Desert Sanity from Gwoza Battalion, who took her to Gwoza before she was brought to Maiduguri 7 Division Nigeria Army Headquarters”, he said
Meanwhile, The GOC 7 Division NA Maiduguri , Maj. Gen. Wahidi Shaibu, said the two schoolgirls were taken to the hospital and passed several tests and treatments and found to be healthy and now will be handed over to the appropriate authorities.
He also disclosed that Mary Dauda is the No. 46 students abducted by the insurgents in the list and reached on 14/06/2022 by the troops on patrol behind the Gwoza mountain around Ngoshe axis, while revealing that there were over 20 other Chibok abducted schoolgirls with the Bomo Haram insurgents that she left behind.
Earlier, the theater commander urged those left behind in the Sambisa Forest to come out and enjoy a better life than being enslaved by the insurgents, while assuring warm reception and welfare for the surrendered Boko Haram insurgents terrorizing the state and region.
He noted that, the troops will never relent on their efforts to decisively crush the adamant terrorists and rescue the innocent people they have abducted and conscripted.
General Musa advised the resettled IDPs to always be vigilant and extra careful not to be pick or play with anything they see on the ground as they may fall victims of IEDs or mines on roads and farmlands.
He added that the military is presently building up its capacity and reinforcement strategies with a view to finally completely clear the area from the insurgents.
The Theater Commander further warned the general public to desist from transacting any trade with the insurgents by either supplying or aiding the Boko Haram members with anything, stressing that anyone found wanting will face the full wrath of the law .
He however disclosed that the military has so far rescued over 57,000 repentant Boko Haram members, while appreciating the troops for their bravery and sacrifices as well as determination to end the war this year.
