Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Sadiya Umar Farouq on Thursday flagged off the disbursement of N20,000 grants to 3352 vulnerable persons across the 18 LGAs of Cross River State.
Hagiya Farouq said she was in Cross River State on the directives of President Muhammadu Buhari to give succour to the vulnerable persons in the state.
The minister said: “We came to support the poor and vulnerable persons in Cross River and this exercise has being going on across the country”
She advised the beneficiaries of the Federal Government grant to make judicious use of the money.
Earlier, The National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Betta Edu commended President Buhari for his passion for the less privilege in the society.
She said most of the Federal Government policies are targeted at the vulnerable groups across the country.
