Mob set commissioner’s house ablaze, destroy district head’s vehicles in Sokoto

Following an unending banditry attacks in Sokoto East Senatorial Districts and Isa local Government Area in particular, locals have taken what seems like a glaring display of disatisfaction on supposed illustrious sons and leaders of their areas by attacking their properties, police authority has confirmed on Wednesday.

Though, reasons for the mob action which led to setting ablaze of the residence of the former Local Government Chairman, Col Garba Moyi (rtd) and now commissioner for Careers and Security Matters to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

The angry mobs were also said to have shartered glasses of vehicles belonging to Isa LGA District Head, Alhaji Nasiru Ahamad.

Conforming the incident, Sokoto State Police Command’s spokesperson, ASP Sanusi Abubakar said their officers have arrested some of the mobs and are currently conducting investigation into the ugly development.

Though, the Police Spokesperson could not establish whether the action of the mobs was an indirect indictment on those whose properties were touched. a deeper reflection of the incident could, however, indicates that either the locals are acting on the conviction of some romours or being led by bandits apologist to divert attentions.

Hence, some local governments in the State have started bonding together to form a stronger united force against these bandits.

As things stands in Isa LGA and Sokoto in general, all eyes will be on the state police command, as the public await to know the balck sheeps in the entire mob action.
