Nation correspondent emerges as Cross River NUJ Chairman

A correspondent with The Nation Newspaper, Comrade Gill Nsa on Saturday emerged as the Council Chairman of The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Cross River State.

Comrade Nsa, who scored 76 votes defeated his closet rival, Comrade Okar Ibor of Nigerian Chronicle, who polled 50 votes.

Declaring the results, the National Vice President in charge of South-South, Comrade John Agese said Nsa having scored the highest number of votes is declared elected.

The position of the State Secretary was won by Solomon Azu of the Nigerian Chronicle.

He defeated his closet rival, Mazi Judex Okoro of the Sun Newspaper and former Chairmen of correspondent chapel with 64 votes to 59 votes.

Archibong Bassey of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) defeated her closet rival, Veronica Ogar of the State Ministry of Information with 85 votes to 41 to become the State Financial Secretary.

The position of State Assistant Secretary, and Vice Chairmen and Treasurer were returned unopposed.
