President Buhari mourns veteran broadcaster, Yusuf Katsina

President Muhammadu Buhari has mourn the death of veteran broadcaster, Alhaji Yusuf Katsina, describing him as a gentleman and a dedicated journalist.

The president made his feelings known in a statement by his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, on Saturday in Abuja.

Buhari recalled that Katsina had served at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and Deutsche Welle in Germany for decades before joining Nigerian Television Authority.

The deceased, thereafter, led a team to establish the Katsina State Broadcasting Service, according to Buhari.

The president said that Katsina belonged to the golden age of broadcasting in Nigeria characterised by passion for the job and patriotism.

He prayed to Allah to forgive his shortcomings and reward his good deeds.

The president also prayed to God to comfort Katsina’s family.
