Sokoto APC Deputy Governorship Candidate, Hon Idris Mohammad Gobir

The Council Chairman of Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Soko State, Hon Idris Mohammad Gobir has emerged as the running mate to Sokoto All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Hon Ahmad Aliyu.
Addressing newsmen at the party Secretariat, the state party chairman, Hon Isa Sadiq Achida said the choice of the party running mate was as a result of due consultation amongst several stakeholders.
Said Achida said: “after due consultations and deliberations between the Sokoto State APC Governorship Candidate for the 2023 General Elections, other relevant party stakeholders and interest groups, we have come to the conclusion that our unanimous choice for the Deputy Governorship Candidate of our great party, the APC in Sokoto State is none other than Honourable Idris Muhammad Gobir, affectionately called “Dan Chadi” by his admirers”.
According to the state party chairman, the newly unveiled guber running mate is 47 years old and a holder of five Masters’ Degree in various disciplines of human management and development, including Computer Software Management as well as International Affairs and Diplomacy.
Dan Chadi at the time of his nomination is pursuing his Doctorate Degree at the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA.
He added that: “Our Deputy Governorship candidate is an accomplished administrator that began his service career as a school teacher in Sabon Birni local government, one time Sokoto’s commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning before venturing into other public service sectors such as the Maritime and Petroleum industries, where he served with the Nigerian Port Authority and Department of Petroleum Resources”.
On his part, Hon Idris Mohammad Gobir thanked the State APC for finding him worthy of such trust and promised not to let them down.
Hon Gobir, who hailed from the Sokoto East Senatorial District, further, assured that he will remained committed to having good working relationship with his governorship candidate, adding that he is an humble individual that have the development of the state at heart.
He further noted that the state will be better off by voting APC come 2023, hence they believe and have exhibited diverse human developmental projects in their respective ways and are ever ready to do more for the good of the people of the state.
