Tottenham Hotspur suffered another setback on Thursday night, losing 3–1 at home to Crystal Palace as their poor run of results continued.
The hosts started brightly and went ahead in the 34th minute when Dominic Solanke finished a neat move to give Tottenham the lead and lift the home crowd at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Palace, however, responded before the break. Jorgen Strand Larsen levelled for the visitors before Ismaïla Sarr turned the game around with two quick goals – converting from the penalty spot and adding another in first-half stoppage time to send Palace into halftime with a 3-1 lead.
Tottenham tried to push forward in the second half but struggled to break down a well-organised Palace side that looked comfortable protecting their advantage.
Spurs finished the game with 12 attempts compared to Palace’s nine, while both sides recorded four shots on target.
Palace also edged possession with about 60 per cent of the ball.
The result leaves Tottenham searching for answers again, while Palace return home with a valuable away victory.
