Cross River Governor, Senator Bassey Otu

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a leading gubernatorial aspirant, Senator Bassey Otu has emerged as the consensus candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State.
Prince Otu is a former senator representing Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State.
His emergence as a consensus governorship candidate was the unanimous decision made by the 17 governorship aspirants and critical party stakeholders.
The meeting, which was presided over by the leader of APC in the state, Governor Ben Ayade, had in attendance the State Chairman, Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba, other executive members and the 17 gubernatorial aspirants under the platform of the APC.
The meeting of the party which held in Abuja was a congenial political family meeting which resolved to appoint Sen. Prince Bassey Otu as the Cross River APC governorship candidate for the 2023 election.
Meanwhile, the Cross River APC Publicity Secretary, Erasmus Ekpang, in a statement issued on Tuesday in Calabar, expressed the party’s sincere appreciation to its leader, chairman, governorship aspirants, critical stakeholders and members of the party for arriving at this historic milestone and looks forward to a robust primaries.
