Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar
By EZEKIEL OBI, Abuja-
Nigerian Youths for Atiku (NYFA) has issued a directive to its members across the 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) immediately.
This bold move is seen as a significant step towards unseating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
NYFA Founder and President, Prof. Gold Emmanuel, emphasized that the group’s decision to join ADC is driven by a desire for change and a belief in Atiku Abubakar’s leadership.
“Members of NYFA must do the right thing by joining the ADC immediately,” she said. “It is also important that the ADC aligns with the majority”.
Emmanuel noted that Nigerians are dissatisfied with the APC administration’s policies, including interest rate hikes, subsidy removal, and electricity tariff increases.
“We have been critical of the present administration’s policies,” she said.

The group strongly believed that Atiku and other political leaders in ADC would make a difference in 2027 .
Emmanuel emphasized that NYFA’s support for Abubakar is rooted in his commitment to restructuring Nigeria and reforming the electoral system.
“We trust in his vision to reform our electoral system—particularly by ensuring transparency and accountability at local government and state collation centers, where electoral malpractice is most prevalent,” she said.
The NYFA’s decision to join ADC marks a significant development in Nigeria’s opposition politics. With prominent figures like Atiku, David Mark, and Rauf Aregbesola on board, the ADC is poised to challenge the ruling APC in 2027.
