Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has appointed three of the five Commissioners that were sacked as Special Advisers.
NATIONAL ACCORD had reported that on Tuesday morning, Governor Mohammed, through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, announced in a statement, the sacking of five Commissioners from his cabinet. He also sent the names of eight nominees to security agencies for clearance and subsequent confirmation by the State House of Assembly for appointment Commissioners.
According to him, the Governor’s move was aimed at reinvigorating governance and ensuring optimal service delivery in the State by injecting fresh ideas and energy into governance in line with the Governor’s vision of strengthening the machinery of government and addressing emerging challenges effectively.
The commissioners affected by this development are: Dr. Jamila Dahiru – Commissioner of Education, Barr. Abubakar Abdulhameed Bununu – Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs and Comrade Usman Danturaki – Commissioner of Information and Communication.
Others are: Professor Simon Madugu Yalams – Commissioner of Agriculture and Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza – Commissioner of Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation.
However, hours later after the sack, the Governor appointed three of them as Special Advisers.
This was contained in a statement signed and made available to journalists by the Governor’s Media Aide, Mukhtar Gidado, entitled: “GOVERNOR BALA MOHAMMED APPROVES THE APPOINTMENT OF THREE SPECIAL ADVISERS.”
According to him, those brought back to the Bauchi State Executive Council are: Barrister Abubakar Abdulhameed Bununu, Usman Danturaki and Professor Simon Madugu-Yalams.
Gidado said: “His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON, Fnipr ( Kauran Daular Usmaniyya) the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, has approved the appointment of three new Special Advisers to his administration.
“The appointments, which take immediate effect, are part of the Governor’s commitment to ensuring effective leadership, inclusivity, and the attainment of his administration’s developmental goals.
“The newly appointed Special Advisers who served as Honorable Commissioners in the administration are as follows: Hon. Abubakar Abdulhameed Bununu – Special Adviser on Multi – lateral coordination and Regional Integration, Comrade Usman Danturaki – Special Adviser on Labour Matters and Contributory Pension Scheme and Professor Simon Madugu Yalams – Special Adviser on Technical and Vocational Education.
He said that the Governor urged the appointees to bring their wealth of experience, dedication, and expertise in their respective fields in order to contribute significantly towards the attainment of the administration’s vision for Bauchi State.
“He calls on them to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, transparency, and renewed focus on improving the lives of the people of Bauchi State.
“The Governor also reaffirms his administration’s commitment to good governance, accountability, and inclusive development for all citizens of Bauchi State,” he stated.
