Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has expressed strong confidence that a win for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the August 16 Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election will solidify the party’s stronghold in Oyo State.
Speaking at a vibrant campaign kickoff at Bodija Market in Ibadan, Makinde presented the PDP flag to the party’s candidate, Folajimi Oyekunle, urging voters to back the party to maintain its dominance.
Makinde praised Oyekunle as a reliable and capable candidate, describing him as the ideal choice to represent Ibadan North in the House of Representatives.
The governor also thanked residents for their unwavering support since the start of his administration and called on eligible voters in the constituency to turn out in large numbers on election day to support the PDP.
In an earlier address, Ademola Omotosho, the Director-General of the Folajimi Oyekunle Campaign, echoed the governor’s call, urging constituents to mobilize massively for the PDP candidate on August 16.
Oyekunle, a former Deputy Chief of Staff to Makinde and ex-House of Assembly member, is poised to leverage his experience in the upcoming by-election, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
