President Bola Tinubu
All Progressives Congress (APC) has pushed back against what it described as attempts by critics to undermine the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing opposition figures of deliberately spreading misleading narratives.
In a statement issued in Sokoto, Malam Yusuf Dingyadi, Senior Special Assistant to the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, criticised individuals and groups using social media to circulate what he described as distorted accounts of President Tinubu’s performance.
Dingyadi said many of those pushing the narratives were opposition figures who, according to him, derive satisfaction from spreading misinformation without considering national interest or responsibility.
He further argued that such criticisms were driven by personal and political interests rather than a genuine commitment to national development, patriotism, peace, and security. According to him, attempts to diminish the administration’s achievements—particularly in northern Nigeria—through “misleading information, unfounded accusations, and political propaganda” were unacceptable.
The APC official maintained that there have been notable improvements in security, increased development initiatives, and ongoing projects across various sectors, which he said should encourage continued support for the administration.
“The use of vulgar language, criticism, condemnation, and spreading false information is not expected from good and patriotic Nigerians, especially considering the country’s situation before Tinubu’s administration.”
Dingyadi also highlighted what he described as the party’s reform efforts under the current leadership.
“Present APC national working committee under Professor Nentawe Yilwatda ensures transformation in the economic sector, improved security for citizens, advancements in agriculture, education, healthcare, road and housing construction, and social intervention programmes, among others,” Dingyadi stated.
He added that the party would continue working to improve citizens’ welfare while confronting what it described as misinformation aimed at discrediting the administration’s efforts.
Dingyadi also urged Nigerians to remain cautious of narratives from opposition figures, saying such criticisms were often designed to gain political support by discrediting government initiatives.
