All Progressives Congress (APC) has relocated its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, set for Thursday, July 24, 2025, from its national secretariat in Abuja to the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa at 2:00 p.m.
According to a statement by APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, the venue change was necessitated by logistical considerations.
“The meeting of the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), initially scheduled at the Party’s National Secretariat – 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja, will now be held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, due to logistical reasons,” Morka announced.
On the eve of the NEC meeting, APC governors convened a private meeting at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, hosted by the Chairman of the All Progressive Governors Forum, Governor Hope Uzodimma.
Governors in attendance included Babagana Zulum (Borno), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Usman Ododo (Kogi), and Uba Sani (Kaduna).
While the agenda of the governors’ meeting remains undisclosed, sources suggest it may focus on selecting a new National Chairman following Abdullahi Ganduje’s resignation in June 2025, citing health concerns.
His departure has left a leadership gap, raising concerns about the party’s readiness for upcoming by-elections, including gubernatorial polls in Anambra, Ekiti, and Osun states.
Acting National Chairman Ali Bukar Dalori is expected to address key issues at the NEC meeting, including approving the schedule for congresses, establishing standing committees, and providing updates on the party’s e-registration process across Nigeria’s 36 states.
