BIRS to synergise with Dangote cement for better productivity

The Acting Executive Chairman, Benue State Internal Revenue Service(BIRS) Mr.Emmanuel Agema on Wednesday received a delegation of Dangote Cement Plc, Gboko Plant at the revenue house Makurdi with the aim of synergizing with the cement company for better performance and high productivity.

A statement by the Media Assistant to the BIRS Acting Chairman, Jacinta Benard, said the BIRS Chairman appreciated them for their visit, noting that Dangote cement company is one of the services’ most important big boy contributing massively to the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

The BIRS boss, the statement maintained that the synergy would propel BIRS to record more successes in achieving its mandate.

According to the statement, the visit was paramount to ascertain and determine possible challenges and problems concerning their taxes explaining that, the leadership of BIRS was aimed at providing conducive working and business environment for all business wether big or small, for improved revenue generation and development of the state.

He also delegated one of BIRS Staff who is the head of Large Tax Payers Unit, Mr.Joseph Zai to work, assist and support Dangote Cement PLC in order to close the gap in communication.

Earlier in his speech, Mr.Segun Orebanjo, the Finance Manager of Dangote Cement PLC, who spoke on behalf of the delegation, congratulated the chairman on his appointment and saying, the aim of their visit was to synergize with the service and to seek possible solutions to challenges they face.

He also advised that, an account officer be given to the company to enable them communicate easily and efficiently with the service on tax matters.

The Head Human Capital/Admin officer of Dangote Cement Plc, Mr. J. T.Kunde, who also spoke extolled the leadership qualities of the chairman, stating that the Chairman is a well organized tax administrator and a great team leader who received them cheerfully with the entire BIRS management team on board.

The Board Secretary/Legal adviser, Dekaa Ushahemba, in his remarks, appreciated the delegation and assured them of the service’ full cooperation to ensure efficient service delivery and maximum customer satisfaction .
