
Some of the beneficiaries of the skills acquisitions programmes in Borno.

The Borno State Agency for Mass Literacy in collaboration with Plan International under Europain Union (EU) consortium has engaged over 1370 youths in different skills acquisitions programmes in the State.
NATIONAL ACCORD gathered that the participants were drawn from four Local Government Areas of the state, namely; Maiduguri Metropolitan Council, Magumeri, Jere, and Konduga in eigth different skills and vocational training areas.
The Executive Secretary, Borno State Agency for Mass Literacy, Ambassador Mustaokha Ali, said that the numbers of trained participants include 455 beneficiaries in tailoring, 193 beneficiaries in cap making, 148 beneficiaries in barbing saloon, 139 participants for soap making, 125 beneficiaries for food processing, 106 beneficiaries for grandnut oil processing, 104 shoe making beneficiaries, and 100 barking beneficiaries.
According to him, The Plan International provided the training materials for the various skills acquisitions and startup kits for beneficiaries, while the state agency provided manpower and certificates.
Ambassador Ali, also added that EU partner as the donor organizations have also renovated and equipped a block of 3 classrooms and office accommodation.at the agency.
The Executive Secretary, however appreciated the efforts of the Borno State Government for signing the MOU with the organization, which has lead consortium in the loudable programmes for creating job opportunities in the state to our youths during post insugency period.
