Grammy Award-winning Afrobeats superstar, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, is set to headline the grand finale of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 Fan Zone concert in Rabat, Morocco.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed the development in a post shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, unveiling a star-studded lineup for the closing concert.
“Burna Boy, Stormzy, Stonebwoy, and Jaylann live on January 16. The #TotalEnergiesAFCON2025 Fan Zone Concerts finale,” CAF announced, alongside official posters of the performing artistes.
Dubbed “The AFCON Last Dance,” the finale concert is scheduled for Friday, January 16, 2026, at the OLM Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat. The event is expected to kick off at 8 p.m. local time and will bring the curtain down on weeks of football and entertainment across Morocco.
Music has played a prominent role throughout the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which kicked off on December 21, 2025. The tournament’s opening ceremony in Rabat featured Nigerian megastar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, alongside international acts French Montana and RedOne.
Their performance, tagged Le Show, thrilled fans at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium shortly before Morocco’s opening match against Comoros.
Explaining its choice of Davido for the opening ceremony, CAF said: “The Nigerian Afrobeats star has helped carry African music onto the world’s biggest stages, with a sound associated with celebration, confidence, and continental pride, qualities CAF believes mirror the spirit of the Africa Cup of Nations.”
The announcement of the finale concert comes just days after tournament hosts Morocco knocked Nigeria out of the competition, ending the Super Eagles’ title hopes.
Nigeria will, however, still feature in the third-place playoff, where they are set to face Egypt on Saturday, January 17, at the Mohammed V Stadium. The match is scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. ET.
With Burna Boy and other top African and international stars taking the stage, the AFCON 2025 Fan Zone finale promises a vibrant and memorable send-off to one of the continent’s biggest sporting events.
