My journey to Kuje prison was political – Ex-Taraba Governor, Jolly Nyame

The former Taraba State Governor, Rev. Jolly Nyame, has said he was jailed on a political basis.

 

Jolly Nyame stated this during interview with journalists at his thanksgiving service held at the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Secretariat in Jalingo, Taraba State capital.

 

Nyame said, he went to Kuje Prison not for anything but political, according to him, his jail term was slammed on him 14 years but he came out after four years.

Nyame disclosed that giving another opportunity he will be better leader based on experiences.

He expressed gratitude to God for giving him the grace to leave prison and also saving his life when in hospital.

Rev. Nyame further explained that God has provided him with peace of mind, peace in his family and peace to the people of Taraba State.

In the same vein, the former Taraba State gubernatorial aspirant, Prof. Jorrome Nyame said the former governor is a man of faith, and a man with forgiving heart.

He added that, the philosophy of the former governor is believe in God, and a man who hardly turn blame on people when in difficult time.

Jorrome described the celebrant as a man of peace, who impact on many people irrespective of tribes or religion background.

Meanwhile, the son of the former Taraba State Governor, Masere Nyame, stressed that the thanksgiving service is long over due, since his father exited from Kuje Prison.

Masere disclosed that his father miraculous exit from prison is God’s influence, citing the history of some prominent leaders, who were thrown in to prison and came out to make impact and positive results.
