Ramadan: Islamic clerics task Nigerian leaders on good governance

An Islamic cleric, Khalifa Ali Abulfatihi has appealed to Nigerian leaders to have the feelings of the masses at heart and come to their aid by assisting and supporting the poor masses in the country.

He also called on Nigerians irrespective of religion, tribe, origin, status or political affiliation to continue to pray for the peace, progress and development of the country.

Khalifa stated this on Friday evening during the closing ceremony of month of Ramadan Tafsiri special prayer, which was held at the Maulana Sheikh Ahmad Abulfatihi Central Mosque, Maiduguri.

He said the prayer is an annual event to mark the closing of the annual Quranic Tafsiri on the 26th day of Ramadan which will be followed by closing ceremony of the Annual Special prayer/Dua {Tarawih) and Tahajud special prayer.

The cleric asserted that Nigeria as a country will never fall apart or be divided by the will of God.

The Islamic scholar added that Nigeria will continue to stand firm in unity and progress despite its present socio economic challenges. He urged the leaders for more poverty alleviation and empowerment schemes to be provided to the ordinary people who are jobless roaming the streets helplessly.

He however charged Nigerian citizens to continue to be loyal and law abiding to their leaders and traditional rulers as well as support and cooperate with the security operatives for peace to reign in all parts of the country, while declaring doom and total destruction to enemies of progress of Nigeria anywhere they may be.

Khalifa further applauded the significant efforts of the security agents in restoring peace and ensuring safety of lives and property of the citizenry across the country while praying for the return of permanent peace and stability in all parts of the country.

He prayed God to continue to guide and protect Nigerian leaders in steering the affairs of the country with fear of God and empathy for Nigerians.

He thank all those that supported Abulfatihi Foundation annually to hold its activities in the general interest of all and sundry.

In another development, Sheikh Adamu Madibbo Gidado, who is also the Shettima’ Malamai of Emir of Ngazergamu, Yobe State has closed his annual Quranic Tafsiri on Saturday evening at Sheikh Madibbo Gidado Zawiya Central Jummaa Mosque , Pompomari, Falatari, off Kano road amidst mammoth crowd with special prayers for peace, unity, progress, development and stability of the nation, Nigeria and other parts of the world.

He also appreciated the support of all those that contributed in one way or the other to the successful annual Tafsiri and Iftar, among others while assuring regular special prayers for all the donors, philanthropists, among others.
