A youth-focused wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC), known as the Youth Structure for Asiwaju, has unveiled plans to rally six million young Nigerians in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Speaking with journalists on Monday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, the group’s Convener, Dr. Michael Nwoko, said the initiative is designed to mobilise young voters—particularly those turning 18—towards active political participation.
Nwoko explained that the group intends to use technology and data-driven strategies to identify eligible young voters and bring them into a structured mobilisation network spanning the six geopolitical zones, states, and local governments across the country.
> “We will engage youths constructively and build an organic followership from among them. Our sustainable database will ensure we reach about ten million youths in the coming months,” Nwoko stated.
He described President Tinubu as a leader who has “repositioned the country on a path of economic growth and development,” highlighting his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and national progress.
According to him, backing Tinubu’s second-term bid aligns with the long-term interests of young Nigerians, as his policies are geared towards economic stability and job creation.
Nwoko emphasised that the group’s ultimate goal is to secure six million votes for President Tinubu in the 2027 election and ensure a landslide victory for all APC candidates.
Reflecting on the 2023 polls, he noted that the party had drawn key lessons from its past experiences and would approach the next general election with renewed strategy and preparedness.
> “We have concluded that what happened in 2023 will not happen again. The president has addressed those gaps, and we are fully ready for the next election,” he said confidently.
