A former PDP presidential aspirant, Chief Stanley Osifo, has raised concerns over the early politicking and “power-grabbing coalition” ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Osifo, now a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), believes that the current politicking will not help solve the numerous challenges facing the country, especially the masses.
“Grabbing power is not the priority now if we really love this country. One realistic thing we should all do is not to take over power or fight for power but to collaborate with whoever that is there now to save lives and livelihood of the citizens,” Osifo said in an interview with NAN.
He emphasized that the focus should be on solving the country’s current problems, including governance, economy, security, health, education, food, water, infrastructure, and others.
“Let us leave politicking till 2026. Let us pity Nigerians and solve their problems now,” Osifo added.
Osifo’s comments come amid the Nigeria National Coalition Group’s (NNCG) and opposition leaders’ plans to register a new political party, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The coalition, led by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, aims to wrestle power from the ruling APC in 2027.
