President Bola Tinubu traveled to Kigali, Rwanda, to present Nigeria’s investment case to African and global business leaders at the Africa CEO Forum 2026, the Presidency has said.
Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, said on Wednesday that the forum would serve as one of the administration’s most significant investor engagements since it assumed office. He described Kigali as the stage for President Tinubu to pitch Nigeria as a high-return destination for scaled businesses.
“Nigeria remains one of the world’s most profitable investment destinations, where properly scaled businesses can generate extraordinary returns beyond conventional market expectations,” Dare said in the statement, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
He argued that while global investment models typically project returns of 20 to 25 per cent, Nigeria has consistently exceeded those figures. Dare cited MTN Nigeria and MultiChoice as examples, noting that both companies grew far beyond initial projections after entering the Nigerian market and now rank among the country’s most valuable firms.
The presidential aide acknowledged that Nigeria’s challenges were visible and sometimes exaggerated, but said they masked a large consumer market, expanding infrastructure, a growing technology ecosystem, abundant mineral resources, and a young, entrepreneurial population.
Dare said the Africa CEO Forum represented more than a conference, calling it a marketplace for capital, partnerships, and policy direction. Over 2,000 chief executives, investors, financiers, policymakers, and sovereign wealth managers are expected to attend.
He added that Nigeria would use the forum to showcase ongoing reforms — including fuel subsidy removal, exchange rate liberalisation, tax modernisation, infrastructure concessions, power sector restructuring, gas commercialisation, and digital economy expansion — as part of a strategy to restore macroeconomic credibility and attract sustainable investment.
