Nigeria records 999 new COVID-19 infections

With 999 new cases recorded on Tuesday, Nigeria’s total COVID-19 confirmed infections have reached 79,789.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which made this known in an update on its twitter handle @NCDCgov, also said that of the total infections, 68,879 cases had been discharged, with 1,231 deaths recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country early this year.

Giving a breakdown of the new infections, the NCDC said that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded 416, followed by Lagos with 324 and Kaduna-68.

The remaining cases came from Plateau-42, Kwara-32, Kano-24, Gombe-14, Sokoto-12, Yobe-12, Akwa Ibom-11, Bayelsa-10, Rivers-7, Bauchi-7, Ogun-6, Oyo-5, Edo-4, Taraba-4 and Jigawa-1.
