Manchester United recovered from an early setback to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 and climb to third on the table.
Palace shocked the home side when they took the lead scoring the first goal in just 4minutes into the game punishing a loose moment at the back. For a while, United struggled to find their rhythm and the crowd grew uneasy.
The turning point came when the referee awarded United a penalty after pressure inside the Palace box.
Captain Bruno Fernandes stepped up and slotted it home with confidence, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to make it 1-1.
United looked sharper after the break and eventually got their reward. Benjamin Sesko struck the winner from close range, continuing his habit of scoring important goals. It is becoming a pattern now, he tends to deliver when it matters.
Palace tried to respond late on and pushed men forward, but United stood their ground and saw out the game.
United finished with 58 per cent possession and 16 shots, seven of them on target. Palace had 10 shots, four on target, and 42 per cent possession.
United won six corners to Palace’s three. Fouls were 11 to 13, while the referee showed two yellow cards to United and three to Palace.
The win takes United up to third place and keeps them firmly in the mix near the top. Palace, despite their bright start, leave with nothing.
