The National Task Force (NATFORCE) on importation of Illegal Arms, Ammunitions, light Weapons and Chemical, wants the Acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba to give approval for its operational signal to enable NATFORCE carry out special operations to rid out all criminal elements in the country.
The National Commander of NATFORCE, Mr Aliyu Aminu-Wayas made the appeal while speaking with newsmen at Mararaba, Nasarawa State.
Mr Aminu-Wayas, who pledged to synergize with the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian military and other security agencies, maintained that if approval is given to NATFORCE led by Engineer Musa Mohammed Katsina, it would give operational backup to the Force to apprehend bandits, kidnappers terrorists and other criminals in their various hideouts.
He stated that the force had arrested and handed over 40 criminals to the Nigeria Police Force for prosecution and would not relent until Nigeria is free of criminalities.
Mr Aminu-Wayas called on the National Assembly to speed up the process of passing the bill establishing the force to give legislative backing to its operations.
The NATFORCE Commander, also congratulated the Muslim faithful for the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan and called on them to celebrate in love, peace and unity.
While calling for prayers from Nigerians to all security agencies, the Commander maintained that the force would continue to carryout its operations professionally.
