The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday announced that it has registered 89 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 164,000 confirmed cases.
As at Wednesday, 14 April, 2021, the public health agency recorded no COVID-19-related deaths, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria to 2,061 deaths.
The NCDC made this know in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov, noting that 89 new cases were reported from 10 states, including: – Lagos (19), FCT (15), Adamawa (12), Akwa Ibom (10), Cross River (9), Rivers (6), Ogun (6), Kano (5), Kaduna (4) and Osun (3)
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 164,000 confirmed cases, out of which 154,270 Covid-19 patients havebeen discharged.
The NCDC further noted that there were now 7,669 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it has so far carried out sample test on 1,838,174 persons since the outbreak of pandemic, last year.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities Nationwide.
