Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo had flagged off a free medical outreach in partnership with OCMM International and support from the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), to bring hope, healing, and smiles on the people of Ugbokolo community and the entire people of Okpokwu Local Government Area.
The week long outreach offers free consultations, lab tests, eye & dental care, medications, and counseling, fulfilling the promise of the Rector, Arc. Henry Ojobo, to make healthcare accessible for staff, students, and the entire community.
Speaking during the commencement of the outreach programme, Dr. Ojobo said, “we established this facility out of genuine concern for our students and community. All glory goes to God and our partners, BSUTH and OCMM International for making this possible.”
The lead Consultant of OCMM International, Dr. Paul Oduma, in his comment praised the partnership, saying Nigeria’s health sector needs collaboration, insisting that “when government, institutions, NGOs, and individuals join hands, we can truly salvage our land together.”
Commissioning the new Benpoly Healthcare Centre, as part of activities for the event, President-General of Okonobo, Hon. Peter Adah, described the Rector as “a community builder and pledged the community’s full support for the Ojobo led administration of the Polytechnic.
This partnership as observed is a reflection of Governo Hyacinth Iormem Alia’s vision for quality and accessible healthcare for all Benue people.
