The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has registered 394 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 159,646.
As at Wednesday (10th, March 2021), the public health agency also recorded five (5) new COVID-19-related deaths, raising the total fatalities in Nigeria to 1,993 deaths.
The NCDC made this know in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov.
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 159,646 confirmed cases, out of which 139,983 had been discharged.
The public health agency also noted that the new infections were reported in 18 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The 394 new cases are reported from 18 states- Bauchi (75), Lagos (36), Akwa Ibom (33), FCT (32), Nasarawa (29), Kaduna (26), Rivers (25), Ogun (22), Oyo (21), Edo (20), Taraba (18), Imo (17), Ondo (17), Borno (8), Plateau (7), Zamfara (4), Osun (3), and Kano (1)
The NCDC said that there were now 17,670 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it has so far carried out sample test on 1,601,396 persons since the outbreak of the infection last year.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, is coordinating response activities Nationwide.
