Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially awarded Certificates of Return to the newly elected members of the Kano State House of Assembly following the August 16 by-elections.
The ceremony took place on Friday at INEC’s Kano headquarters, presided over by Resident Electoral Commissioner Abdu Zango.
The recipients included Garba Ya’u Gwarmai of the All Progressives Congress (APC), representing Ghari/Tsanyawa Constituency, and Ali Hassan Shanono of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), representing Shanono/Bagwai Constituency.
In their remarks, the members-elect expressed gratitude to INEC for ensuring a transparent electoral process.
“We are deeply honored by the trust placed in us by the electorate,” Gwarmai stated, while Shanono added, “INEC’s commitment to fairness has strengthened our democracy.”
Both pledged to prioritize healthcare, education, security, and access to clean water for their constituents.
