The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Bauchi state has organized a one-day prayer to seek God’s face concerning the insecurity bedeviling the country.
The prayer meeting tagged: “Come, let’s rebuild the Broken Wall” would hold at the CAN center, Rafin Zurfi, Bauchi on Saturday, 22nd May, 2021″.
The state CAN Chairman, Rev Dr Abraham Damina, who briefed journalists in Bauchi on Friday, stated that selected men of God would lead various prayer sessions for the peace and tranquility in the state and the country as a whole.
Rev. Damina pointed out that the prayer meeting became expedient considering the spate of insecurity in the country.
He lamented that the situation has become so bad that no one knows what would happen to him or her next.
According to him, the only way things can get better for the country is to hand over the situation to God.
“We, as Christians, must not just sit down watching the situation degenerating to a situation that may be irredeemable, we must stand up to fight the spiritual battle, seek the face of God for divine intervention in the situation.
“We have such history in the Bible but with the divine intervention of God, the situation was reversed positively. We can still do it now because it is the same God yesterday, today and tomorrow.”
Rev. Damina called on Christians in the state to turnout and be part of the prayer meeting which text is drawn from the book of Nehemiah 2:17 when Prophet Nehemiah returned to God while in captivity for the rebuilding of the fallen walls of Jerusalem.
