Nadal’s Roland Garros Record May Be Best in Sport

According to Andy Murray, one of Rafael Nadal‘s most outstanding achievements that’s not likely to be ever broken is the record of 13 french open singles titles. Nadal beat  Novak Djokovic in straight sets to collect his record 13th Roland Garros title. The win helped him match Federer’s significant mark, winning his 20th career Grand Slam championship.

In the Roland Garros finals on Sunday, the Spaniard beat Djokovic 6-0, 6-2, 7-5 to draw level with Roger Federer on 20 grand slam titles. Federer went ahead to congratulate Rafael Nadal on his win. He believes that as one of the greatest rivals, they have pushed each other to become better players over many years. On his Twitter account, Federer wrote that it was truly an honor to congratulate Nadal on his 20th grand slam victory.

Murray told the reporters in Cologne during an ATP250 event that he doesn’t think that what Nadal did at Roland Garros will ever be broken. Nadal is almost getting to the point of earning the same amount that Pete Sampra commanded in grand slams.

Nadal’s record is one of the best records in the game, maybe the best of all times. Andy Murray added that he does not think that anyone will get close to the record or the possibility of repetition of the same record. Fortunately, Betway members can continue having fun while wagering on his tennis matches and more.

When Rafael was asked about what it means to win the 20th grand slam title and even draw against Roger Federer, he said that the win meant a lot to him. However, the main aim wasn’t to match Federer’s record, though winning Roland Galore meant everything for him. His performance impressed many punters with Betway Sports betting and odds were substantial.

The title came over 15 years after Nadal defeated Mariano Puerta to win his first grand slam title in Paris, a men’s Open Era record for the longest gap between first and most recent Grand Slam titles. The 34-year-old Spaniard won a record sixth major championship after age 30.

In the last seven grand slam titles, Nadal has won six of them. He suffered one loss only to Djokovic in a 2019 Australian open blowout.

Of the big three icons, which one of them will have the most Grand Slam titles? Is it the 20 times winner of the grand slam Rafael Nadal or the 17 times winner Federer? According to Andy Murray, it is difficult to answer that question since one of the players may suffer an injury, limiting the chances of the players, Provided that all players are fit. If they retire, Murray does not think it will be either Nadal or Novak.

According to Murray, it will depend a little bit on many things. If they both stay healthy and retire simultaneously, Murray thinks it would be between those two.

This blockbuster clash between iconic champions was a breathtaking beatdown by Nadal, who played with the conviction of a man evicting the world No. 1 from his backyard.
