A recent Iranian missile strike near the US Embassy branch office in Tel Aviv resulted in “minor damage” to the facility, according to US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee.
“Some minor damage from concussions of Iranian missile hits near Embassy Branch in Tel Aviv, but no injuries to U.S. personnel,” he reported on social media.
As a precautionary measure, US diplomatic facilities in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem were closed on Monday.
The incident follows a series of escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, with Israel having launched airstrikes on Friday targeting various Iranian sites, including nuclear facilities, military leaders, defense installations, and energy sites.
In response, Tehran retaliated with missile strikes, prompting concerns about the potential for further escalation.
Israeli authorities confirmed that several Iranian missiles struck the country overnight, with explosions heard in the center of Tel Aviv and ambulance sirens blaring afterward.
Despite the minor damage, no US personnel were injured in the incident.
The situation remains volatile, with both countries engaging in a cycle of retaliation and counterattacks.
